Project Name: Replace Asphalt Runway 27 Approach

Project Description: The project scope included repaving the approach area of Runway 27 to include: herbicide application to encroaching vegetation, grading approximately two feet from the asphalt surface area of shoulder to establish grade and sloped for drainage in preparation for asphalt milling and surface preparation for the application of asphalt tack coat, Hot Mix Asphalt pavement overlay and re-stripe approximately 64,000 square feet of existing surface.

This project consisted of providing, installing and maintaining all Maintenance-of-Traffic (MOT) devices in accordance with project plans, milling, resurfacing and re-striping the asphalt surface coarse approach to runway 27. Work activities included analysis of existing conditions, Asphalt milling and repaving 7000 sq. yd. of hot mix asphalt at the approach of Runway 27 while the runway remained active. All work was accomplished on a three (3) day holiday weekend to minimize interference of aircraft operations during work. Milling was completed in one day and paving was completed the next with temporary striping installed the following day.
